Don’t Be That Guy With 187,2960 Unread Articles
Boy find a good article.
Boy want to read.
Boy no time now.
Boy bookmark it or boy read later.
Boy confused.
We've all been there.
Reality is, most of those saves are less likely to be resurrected than an ancient pharaoh. If you're going to procrastinate on your reading or watching list, at least do it right:
• Bookmarks and Read later are not the same!
• Bookmark to save web pages you want quick access to later - your favorite web tools, Lo-fi beats, etc. which you use on a regular basis.
• Read Later is for temporarily parking articles until you have time for them. Articles, blog posts, essays, tutorials - things that require attention should go here.
• Give headlines a scan before bookmarking - clickbait rarely satisfies.
• Curate your list. 10,000 unread articles? You're that daddho in Mentos evolution ad.
• Use tags and folders, or you'll never find anything in the pile. No dumping.
• Find time to clear out the backlog, or "Read Later" becomes "Read Never”. Use that extra time wasted waiting in the biriyani counter wisely.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have 187,2960 articles to catch up on.
I'll be back in a decade or two!
